Summer 2026 Update

Hello!

Summer is usually a slower time of year at PCC and for our union, but PLAC has been very busy with endorsing local candidates for the November election. The Board Mapping subcommittee continues to meet and plan for the PCC Board of Directors election in May 2027.

Here is a list of what PLAC has been working on for this summer. Our most recent meeting was on July 28.

  • In June, we finalized our 2026 General Election timeline, endorsement criteria, and endorsement process. We automatically endorsed all candidates who we endorsed for the 2027 Primary election who won their races. Congratulations to:
  • In July, FFAP endorsed Mitch Green who is running for Portland City Council, District 4:  https://www.mitch4portland.com/.
  • As of today, 11 local candidates have reached out to FFAP to request an endorsement. PLAC is the process of deciding who to invite for an endorsement interview, interviewing candidates, and then deciding whether or not to endorse them based on their answers.
  • The Board Mapping work is continuing. Right now, we are having informational meetings with potential candidates for Zone 2, 3, and 7 and working on finalizing our endorsement process and candidate questions for the 2027 Primary Election.

Stay tuned for more updates from the Political and Legislative Action Committee. Please contact me at marianne.stupfelwallace@pccffap.org if you have any questions or would like to help with the endorsement process and / or the Board Mapping efforts. Thank you all for being such an active community!
