“The union” isn’t some magical third party that makes stuff happen for us – it is all of us working together democratically and actively to improve our working conditions, wages, and benefits. We, all faculty and academic professionals who work at PCC, are the union. This means our success and strength depends on our members who commit to carrying out our union organizing work.
There are many ways to get involved and contribute to our collective work. We have a variety of committees and working groups for members to join and where your input would be valued.
FFAP Committees
- Organizing Committee – This committee is where we plan campaigns, events, collective actions, and membership drives, including our current contract campaign. Org Comm meets monthly via Zoom. Contact the Organizing Officer David Shultis at david.shultis@pccffap.org for a calendar invite and zoom link.
- Contract Action Team – Bargaining is underway and we still need more members to join our team. CAT leaders are a dedicated group of faculty and APs who work to keep everyone informed, connected, and involved in the bargaining process so that we can win the best possible union contract next year. Learn more and sign up to join the CAT here.

Working Groups
- Shared Governance – The Shared Governance committee is working on creating a model of Shared Governance to bring forward to administrators. This grass roots group of faculty, AP’s and colleagues in FCE are committed to a two phase work plan where we are learning about Shared Governance and then using that learning to create the model. We are prioritizing DEI to widen the circle of who gets to have a voice impacting policy and process decisions at PCC, instead of the current top-down model. Learning phase (Summer and Early Fall 2024) and Creating the Model (Fall into Winter 2024-25). To join this group, please fill out this form.
