PCCFFAP 2026 General Election Endorsement Process

PCCFFAP is proud to endorse candidates for state and local offices in the November 2026 General Election who share our commitment to public education, workers’ rights, and thriving communities.

Candidates endorsed by PCCFFAP during the 2026 Primary Election will automatically receive our endorsement for the General Election.

Our Endorsement Criteria

PCCFFAP endorses candidates who:

  • Share our values and vision for strong public institutions and thriving communities.
  • Have demonstrated a commitment to standing with working people and the labor movement.
  • Support raising revenue by ensuring wealthy individuals and large corporations pay their fair share.
  • Will fight for fully funded higher education.
  • Are committed to building long-term relationships that strengthen worker power across Oregon.
  • Will elevate issues affecting higher education, faculty, and students in public discourse.
  • Have demonstrated a willingness to stand with our members-from the picket line to the halls of government.
  • Have earned the recommendation and support of PCCFFAP members.

Statewide Endorsements

For statewide races, PCCFFAP will partner with AFT-Oregon to review applications, conduct candidate interviews, and make endorsement recommendations.

Candidates seeking endorsement should complete the Statewide Endorsement Application by Friday July 24, 2026.

Local Endorsements

For local races, PCCFFAP’s Political and Legislative Action Committee (PLAC) will review applications, conduct interviews, and recommend endorsements.

Candidates seeking endorsement should complete the Local Endorsement Application by Monday, August 24, 2026

Endorsement Timeline

PCCFFAP’s endorsement process is led by volunteer members of our Political and Legislative Action Committee (PLAC).

  • Application deadline: August 24, 2026
  • Candidate interviews: July through Sept 3, 2026
  • Endorsement decisions: Made on a rolling basis by PCCFFAP through member-led processes designed to reflect our union’s shared values and priorities.

Closing applications on August 24 allows our volunteer committee sufficient time to review materials, conduct interviews, and thoughtfully consider each endorsement when making final recommendations before the busy Fall term begins.
