New Opportunity Opens for Student Loan Forgiveness

Student Loans are a maze. We're partnering to guide the way.

The U.S. Department of Education has issued new rules to expand access to Public Service Loan Forgiveness to thousands more student loan borrowers who have previously been denied loan forgiveness because of the type of loans they have, or repayment plans they were enrolled in. However, there is a limited time to take advantage of this – through October 31, 2022.

Our national union, the American Federation of Teachers has made it incredibly easy for our members to find out if they’re eligible and take the necessary steps to enroll with a free member benefit called Summer. Summer creates a personalized checklist to ensure you stay on track for loan forgiveness, provides borrower support to answer questions and better tailor recommendations based on your individual situation, and can even provide other options if Public Service Loan Forgiveness isn’t the right fit.

You can read more at www.aft.org/benefits/Summer, and from there you can create a free AFT Member Benefits account and start enrolling and saving with Summer. We can provide you assistance with gaining access to Summer if necessary. Email federation@pccffap.org for support.

Don’t wake up on November 1 and regret having missed the opportunity to have your loans forgiven – enroll in Summer today!
