Last Friday your PCCFFAP Bargaining Team sat down with administration to talk about Ground Rules for bargaining. The purpose of ground rules is to make sure there is clarity around things like meeting times, how agendas are set, proposal exchanges and response times, and meeting attendance.
Predictably, the issue of who can observe and attend meetings continues to be a sticking point. Management was willing to agree to in-person observers, but they are reluctant to livestream or record sessions. In addition to our commitment to transparency in bargaining, we pointed out the health and safety risks for some of our employees, and the fact that hybrid meetings are a normal and expected part of our professional world now.
We will meet again this Friday, February 17. In-person observers will be able to join starting at 10am at the PCC Climb Center. Please check in at the FFAP table in the second floor lobby. Having a large turnout of members at bargaining sends a message to PCC administration that we are united behind the bargaining team!
Please know that we will not proceed with bargaining beyond ground rules until our members have remote access to negotiating sessions. We hope to share more information (including a link to join the meeting) later this week.
